You only get one smile. Protect your oral health with a personalised preventive dentistry plan designed for you and based on your needs.
Preventive dentistry is the foundation for achieving and maintaining a healthy smile, and it starts with twice-yearly dental visits to your Taringa dental clinic. Dr Paul Rollason, the principal dentist at Absolute Dental Care, welcomes new patients and aims to help each member of your family keep their natural teeth for as long as possible and to eat and speak comfortably.
Dental disease and oral health conditions are rarely symptomatic until they have progressed, involving the internal structures of the tooth, near the nerve. Regular dental check-ups, cleans and digital dental x-rays provide an opportunity for Dr Rollason and our team to identify decay, gum disease and infection before they become painful dental emergencies.
Using a visual exam, periodontal instruments and x-rays, we strive to monitor changes to the oral health of our patients, making it possible for early treatment, which is often less complex and expensive.
Dental cavities are often associated with children but can affect patients of any age. Sugary and starchy foods that stick int he grooves of the teeth increase the risk, alongside inadequate brushing and flossing habits.
Bacteria create an acidic environment that softens the protective enamel that covers the teeth. Once the enamel becomes compromised, bacteria can travel to the internal structures of the tooth, and when left untreated, can impact the nerve and require root canal therapy or extraction.
We work closely with patients to assist in developing good home hygiene habits. Regular dental cleans will also remove any residual tartar that forms in between teeth and near the gumline. Adjustments to lifestyle habits such as reducing sugar and soft drink intake support healthy enamel. Additional treatments also benefit patients of all ages.
When decay develops, we use tooth-coloured dental fillings to repair and seal damaged teeth.
Our Taringa dental team supports a healthy and active lifestyle and will help you avoid sporting accidents that damage your teeth, gums or jaw joints. Athletic mouthguards absorb the force caused by a stray ball, elbow or stick while playing sports and can save your smile from trauma.
Not all damage occurs while running, jumping and scoring. Nighttime teeth clenching and grinding also puts your smile at risk for premature wear, broken teeth and fractures. If you wake up with sensitive teeth, headaches or sore jaw muscles, a protective nightguard can help you achieve a good night’s sleep and keep your teeth from nocturnal damage.
Even if it has been a while since your last dental appointment, we can help you get back on track. Our team is compassionate and professional, never making our patients feel guilty or judged. Instead, we will help you regain your smile with a personalised treatment plan regimen.

Born and raised in Brisbane, Dr Paul Rollason knew he wanted to be a dentist in grade six when he met and grew to admire his orthodontist. The idea of working with families and being hands-on with patients appealed to both his personal connection with people and his interest in dental science.
He was told in grade seven that he wouldn’t be good enough, but he has never been one to turn away from a challenge. He set about finding ways to get what he wanted. He enjoys using his hands
