Technology

Technology makes life easier in many ways, and your dental care is no different. We have implemented some of the most modern technology into our Taringa dental practice to give our patients the highest level of dentistry available while giving them a comfortable experience at every visit.

Here are some of the ways we incorporate modern dental technology at Absolute Dental Care.

Digital Dental X-Rays

Digital dental x-rays are the new standard of dental imaging for both their quality and their improved safety. Using a small, comfortable sensor, we will take images of teeth, bone and roots to identify oral conditions such as decay, bone loss, fractures and tumours. The high-resolution images appear nearly instantly on the treatment room monitor for you to review with Dr Rollason.

Our patients appreciate being involved in their oral health and since digital dental x-rays emit up to 80 per cent less radiation than traditional dental radiographs.

Digital Records

Rather than paper charts, we store patients’ private information on our secure servers under encryption where your private information is safe. Dr Rollason can quickly access your x-rays and periodontal charting from one visit to the next for quick comparisons that will help us identify oral health changes.

Intraoral Camera

We believe that knowledge is power, which is why we spend so much time speaking to and educating our patients. Our intraoral camera is a valuable tool that will allow you to see exactly what Dr Rollason sees when he looks in your mouth.

An intraoral camera is a small handheld camera shaped like a pen that will capture high-resolution images of individual teeth or an area of the mouth. We can also store these images in your digital chart for future reference.

Intraoral scanner

In the past, taking an impression was a slow process that often required multiple appointments. It also meant placing equipment in your mouth that could cause lots of mess, discomfort and an unpleasant aftertaste – not to mention gagging for some patients.

With the Intraoral scanner, we can get a much quicker, cleaner and accurate scan of your gums, teeth and jaw without any physical contact.

Impressions are taken 100% digitally and we use a 3D printer to print models of your entire mouth.

Rotary Endodontics

Anytime we can make treatment more efficient or comfortable, we take the opportunity. Since root canal therapy can be a complex procedure, using the latest technology will reduce the time patients spend in the chair and improve the outcome.

Rotary endodontics use small flexible tips to completely clean out the infected canals and promote healing. Root canal therapy is a tooth-saving procedure that helps patients avoid extraction and tooth replacement.

Televisions in Rooms

Having a television in your treatment room will help you pass the time and provides a nice distraction from the sights and sounds that sometimes put patients on edge. We welcome you to relax and enjoy your favourite programme or movie while we take care of your smile.

Laser Dentistry

Laser dentistry replaces the drill and scalpel for many procedures we offer. Rather than drilling teeth, we can often use the laser to remove decay, which is a softer texture than your natural tooth structure. Dental lasers help us to preserve more of the healthy tooth structure and often do not require the use of anaesthetic.

For soft tissue surgeries like tongue-ties and frenectomies, the laser light energy reshapes tissue while simultaneously sealing it, helping you to avoid stitches. Healing times are often faster and more comfortable with laser dentistry.
