Professional teeth whitening is an affordable and non-invasive way to have a stunning smile.
Stained teeth are a natural part of ageing, even if you don’t use tobacco, drink coffee or sip red wine. Some of the most colourful and healthy foods leave deposits on teeth that collect over time, making teeth look dingy and dull.
Did your family or class reunion sneak up on you and you want to improve your smile fast? In-chair teeth whitening may be the best choice for you and takes only about an hour. Our team will apply professional-strength teeth whitening gel to the teeth while protecting the gums.
You can speak with your dental hygienist or Dr Paul Rollason at your next check-up and clean. Immediately following a dental clean is the best time to whiten your teeth.
You can continue the process at home with your take-home custom teeth whitening trays. Combining both of our professional whitening systems will deliver the most dazzling results.
For our take-home whitening system, we begin by taking moulds of the teeth to create trays that will hold the whitening gel in place, keeping it away from your gums. You can use your whitening gel, placing a small dot of gel in each tooth receptacle, and wear your trays for about one hour each day for two weeks.
You should keep your trays clean and store them away because you can use them to brighten your teeth anytime you need a smile boost.
Many of the products available for sale in salons, spas and shops can remove some surface stains from teeth, but they usually lack the power of professional teeth whitening kits. Many toothpaste brands contain abrasives, which can damage the protective enamel protecting your teeth.
It’s a good idea to discuss your options with your Taringa cosmetic dentist so that you can make an educated choice for your dental health and appearance.
For patients with good oral health, teeth whitening products recommended by your dentist are generally safe. The most common side effect is teeth sensitivity. You can reduce sensitivity by following the instructions provided by Absolute Dental Care precisely. Using more gel will not give you brighter results but can cause your gums and teeth to feel sensitive.
A bright smile can give you a younger look and improved confidence. We invite you to contact us to learn more about teeth bleaching products and cosmetic enhancements to create a smile you feel great about showing off.
Laser whitening is an amazing process that takes about 90minutes for you to walk away with a lighter and brighter smile without having to use in mouth trays at home. Essentially after an initial assessment by our dentist to see if you are a suitable candidate, the process is reasonably easy. The system we use is Smartbleach and we use a KTP laser and it is the only true laser whitening system on the market. The dentist will isolate your teeth and protect your gums from the strong whitening agent, place the Smartbleach onto your teeth and then use the KTP laser to activate the whitening agent (a bit like turbo charging). After each tooth has a round of whitening, this Smartbleach is washed off and the process repeated two more times in the same session. At the end, fluoride is then placed on the teeth and the laser used again to get an increased uptake of fluoride in the tooth to strengthen the tooth and make it more colour fast.
The process is generally not painful or sensitive but this can vary from patient to patient depending on the tooth and the age of the patient. Results can also vary depending on the tooth and the type of staining in the tooth in the first place. This is why we assess our patients first. Teeth can also re-stain over time and things that will cause this staining include tea, coffee, smoking, red wine, dark colas and some foods like curries etc. Smartbleach is the only system that can lighten Tetracycline (an antibiotic) stains.

Born and raised in Brisbane, Dr Paul Rollason knew he wanted to be a dentist in grade six when he met and grew to admire his orthodontist. The idea of working with families and being hands-on with patients appealed to both his personal connection with people and his interest in dental science.
He was told in grade seven that he wouldn’t be good enough, but he has never been one to turn away from a challenge. He set about finding ways to get what he wanted. He enjoys using his hands
